Every day a growing number of individuals search for methods and treatments for how to hide stretch marks.

Before I go any further I’d just like to define exactly what stretch marks are.

The skin consists of three layers which are; the epidermis (skin surface), dermis (middle layer), and hypodermis (inner layer). A sudden or great increase in the stretching of your skin can put too much pressure on the dermis. Slight breaks in the dermis will allow the hypodermis  to show through. The result is a group of marks that  are commonly referred to as stretch marks.

Many people think that the only ones that suffer from stretch marks are women who are pregnant or have had a baby, but this just isn’t the case.

Both men and women of all ages can suffer from stretch marks, and they can occur for many reasons. Weight gain, pregnancy, medical conditions, and puberty growth spurts are just some of the reasons why stretch marks occur.

Now that it’s been established that anyone can suffer from this embarrassing problem, you need to discover how to hide stretch marks.

Although some individuals only have a few stretch marks that can easily be disguised using make up or fake tan, others find these options are not the ideal solution and they seek alternative ways to treat their problem.

There are several methods widely used for how to hide stretch marks. Probably the most common stretch marks treatment is the use of creams and lotions such as cocoa butter.  Whether you are pregnant or not, you should check out a pregnancy stretch mark cream to see what it can do for you.

Other more invasive forms of stretch marks treatment are laser for stretch marks, cosmetic surgery, and microdermabrasion for stretch marks. I’ll go into depth about these and other forms of treatment in separate posts.

As many women complain that their stretch marks multiply with each pregnancy, I’ll also talk about prevention using amongst other things the right diet and skin products.
